The gothic cathedral of Palma welcomes those who choose the sea as their means of transport to arrive in Majorca. The cathedral is the entrance to Palma's old neighbourhood, which occupies the inside of what were once the medieval walls, some of which are still preserved in sections next to the sea. Travelling around the streets of Palma, you will find museums and art foundations - such as the Museu d'Art Contemporani and the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró-, as well as many points of architectonic interest - Llotja, palau de l' Almudaina, the Arab baths, and the town council are notable examples , and amongst which the courtyards of the noble houses- courtyards full of light and silence, staircases and wells - particularly stand out.

The city of Palma has almost half of the population of the island, and spreads along 15 kilometres of coast. It is a city that has the advantages of a small place while offering all the possibilities of a metropolis ten times bigger.
