Boarding pass
In order to be able to board, each passenger will need to collect both their passenger and their vehicle boarding passes at the Baleària ticket offices.
Boarding passes can be picked up in advance at the exit gate or at the Baleària offices and ticket offices (on the same day or earlier) at the passengers' convenience. Furthermore, return boarding passes can be obtained at the same time as the departure boarding passes.
Boarding passes can also be collected at automatic check-in kiosks.

Boarding time limits
Once their boarding pass has been collected, passengers without vehicles are required to board 30 minutes prior to the departure of the vessel. In the case of passengers who board with their vehicle, the boarding time limit is 60 minutes prior to departure. It is important to respect these time limits in order to prevent boarding problems. Passengers who do not board the vessel within these time periods are not guaranteed by Baleària to be allowed on board.

Documentation
In order to collect your boarding pass, you are required to furnish the necessary documentation when so requested:
> In the case of passengers who receive a discount for being residents of the Balearic Islands or Ceuta, documentation certifying such residence will be requested.
> In case that you are entitled to a discount on account of the fact that you come from a large family or hold a young person card (carné joven) you should furnish the necessary documentation. If a booking was made in the name of Baleària Quatre Illes Club, Baleària Marina Alta, Club Baleària Ceuta or other Baleària Club members, a Club membership card should be shown to enjoy the advantages thereof.
> If you hold an electronic ticket purchased on the Baleària webpage, it will be necessary to furnish the credit card with which you made the purchase.
Furthermore, and in accordance with safety regulations, each passenger will be requested to certify their identity when boarding with either a Spanish National Identification Card or other accepted official document in order to verify that their name is the same as that appearing on the boarding pass.
In order to continue meeting its punctuality objectives, Baleària requests that passengers carry the required documentation with them at the time of departure so as to complete boarding in an agile and quick manner.

Documentation necessary to travel to the Kingdom of Morocco:
As a general rule, in order to travel to Morocco, it is necessary to show your passport. Citizens of certain countries will also be required to obtain a visa.
Passport
Citizens from all countries are required to show their passports to enter Morocco.
Exceptions: citizens of EU member countries, except for the last ten countries to enter the European Union [Highlighted in blue in the list that appears when clicking here], in the following cases:
> In the case of one day trips, passengers may enter Morocco by showing only their National Identification Card (not their permit of residence)
> In the case of trips for several days, in addition to their National Identification Card, passengers are required to furnish a hotel booking and stop-over permit.
The National Identification Card must be valid during the passenger’s ENTIRE stay in Morocco.
Visas
Check the list of countries for which a visa is not required by clicking here.
In order to obtain a visa, passengers should visit the respective Moroccan embassy or consulate. The documentation required to obtain a visa is as follows:
> Completed visa request form (DV32)
> 3 photographs
> Passport, valid for a minimum of three months
> 1 photocopy of your passport
> 1 photocopy of your residence permit
> Return ticket booking
> Hotel booking, certificate from a travel agency or invitation. Baleària assumes no responsibility for the non-acceptance of passengers by the competent authorities.
For additional information, contact with the embassy or the consulates of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Boarding of vehicles
The only passenger who may board the vessel with the vehicle is its driver. All other passengers must board at the passenger entrance. On the other hand, the driver and other passengers may disembark the vessel inside their vehicle, unless the vessel's crew does not consider it to be appropriate.
Vehicles should always be boarded with their driver.
Trailers should always be boarded and travel together with the vehicle transporting them.
The vehicle that is boarded is required to be the vehicle included on the ticket, and to be of the height and length indicated on the booking. On the contrary, Baleària is unable to guarantee the boarding of the vehicle. In the case that the tariff corresponding to the vehicle boarded is higher than that corresponding to the vehicle booked, the passenger shall be required to pay the difference in price.
More information in the Hold section.

Automatic check-in kiosks
Baleària has automatic check-in kiosks and ticket sale machines at the maritime stations in Barcelona, Ibiza, Palma and Denia.
In the case of automatic check-in, the passenger enters his booking reference number in the machine and automatically receives a boarding pass which enables him to board the vessel directly, without stopping at the ticket office.
Furthermore, the kiosks allow for one-way tickets to be purchased from the port at which the kiosk is located in the case of passengers travelling without a vehicle.
In the event that documentation is required when checking-in (proof of residence, Numerous Family card, etc.), automatic check-in kiosks may not be used. Balearic Island residents may use this system as long as they are Baleària Quatre Illes Club members.

Online Check-In
Customers can receive boarding passes by e-mail so that they are not required to visit the ticket offices in order to pick them up.
Conditions:
>> The booking must be paid in full.
>> The booking may not be subject to any discount (Balearic island resident or large family), since in these cases, passengers are required to evidence their right to such discounts at a ticket office. Exception: Balearia Quatre Illes Club members with a valid card may use this system.
Online Boarding Passes
Customers receive their departure and return boarding passes for all passengers and vehicles included on the booking confirmation at the e-mail they have indicated. Customers receive two documents in PDF format and are required to print them:
>> Boarding passes marked as «ORIGINAL», which are to be presented when boarding.
>> Boarding passes marked as «COPY», which must be kept for verification purposes throughout the entire trip. The presentation of this boarding pass without the ORIGINAL is not valid for boarding purposes.
In addition, if the client has made the reservation online and has paid with credit card, a document of payment confirmation will be sent to him and he will have to give it signed to the stewardess of the ship on board.

Limitations:
>> A boarding pass which has already been sent may not be resent. Should a customer lose his boarding pass or have printing problems, he will be required to visit a ticket office.
>> If for technical or operating reasons, a boarding pass is unable to be validated electronically at the entrance to the vessel, it must be changed at a ticket office.
>> If a booking is changed, the online boarding pass will be considered null and void, and the customer will be required to visit a ticket office in order to obtain a new boarding pass.
>> The Ibiza-Formentera route only allows for online check-in in the case of Nixe series vessels.

When boarding, passengers will be required to present the boarding pass marked as «Original» as well as ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION (Spanish national identification card or passport) certifying the passenger's identity.

Passenger lounges

Seating
The passenger lounges of all Baleària vessels are equipped with seats that are ergonomic and in most cases, reclining. These are large seats in which passengers may travel with maximum comfort. On almost all vessels, the seats also have foldable trays and pockets to keep objects at hand throughout the trip.
The passenger lounges and other free access areas are completely air-conditioned.
Neptuno and Sirena seating
Baleària vessels have two classes of accommodations: Sirena and Neptuno (except on some vessels running the Ibiza-Formentera route). In both cases the majority of seats are ergonomic and reclining. However, in the Neptune class, seats are larger and there is more space between them.
Furthermore, in the Neptune class, catering is provided (various refrigerated foods depending on the time of day and on the trip).
Luggage racks
The Baleària vessel passenger lounges are equipped with luggage racks where passengers may place their hand luggage and bags. These racks are kept open throughout the entire crossing. In the case of the Isla de Botafoc ferry, and in view of the lengths of the crossings, the luggage racks are kept closed throughout the crossings and are opened upon arrival at the port. Therefore, passengers are recommended to carry their hand luggage with them.
More information can be found in the Luggage section.

Entertainment
The passenger lounges are equipped with audiovisual systems in order to show entertaining videos (films, documentaries, etc.) Also, the Baleària Magazine is distributed free on all trips. This is a quarterly publication which includes reports on Baleària destinations, a cultural agenda, interviews, shipping news, etc.

Bar-cafeteria / Restaurant
All Baleària vessels (except some vessels running the Ibiza-Formentera route) have a bar-cafeteria. The Isla de Botafoc and Pau Casals ferries also have a self-service restaurant.

Cabins
Baleària currently has two ferries with cabins: Isla de Botafoc and Pau Casals.
Isla de Botafoc
Isla de Botafoc has space for 250 people, distributed among 78 cabins with bunk style beds. All Neptuno and Sirena class cabins are air-conditioned and have wardrobes. Neptuno class cabins also have television and a full bath. Furthermore, two of these cabins are designed for physically challenged individuals.
Cabins may be double or quadruple.
Pau Casals
Pau Casals has 57 double cabins. All of these are Neptune class cabins equipped with a full bath, air-conditioning and wardrobes. Furthermore, two of these cabins are designed for physically challenged individuals.

Holds
In accordance with the international safety code, access to vessel holds is restricted to vehicle drivers. Furthermore, photographs and audiovisual recordings are completely prohibited in this area.
The hold is kept closed while sailing. Therefore, passengers are recommended to take any personnel belongings they may need during the trip to the passenger lounge.
Once the vessels have arrived at the destination port, passengers who have vehicles aboard will be notified once they may enter the garage/hold. Motor vehicles may not be started until the vessel exit lock gates and ramps are opened.
Check the section «Boarding rules / Boarding of vehicles» for additional information.

Decks
Since fast ferries are high-speed vessels, passengers may not access the deck area during the crossing (although they may so while the vessel is moored at the port or when sailing at reduced speeds while entering and exiting the port).
On the other vessels, passengers may take walks on the deck throughout the entire trip. Furthermore, on the decks of some ferries, there are sun beds and benches to rest and enjoy the trip.

Luggage
There is no need to check in suitcases or hand luggage. Passengers travelling with their vehicle "check-in their luggage at home", since the luggage is boarded inside their vehicle.
Passengers travelling without their vehicle take their luggage on board and place it on the luggage racks inside the passenger lounges which are left open throughout the crossing. In the case of Isla de Botafoc ferry, luggage racks are kept closed throughout the crossing, and are opened upon arrival at the port. Therefore, passengers are recommended to carry their hand luggage with them.

Mobile telephones
Mobile telephone calls do not interfere with the navigation equipment and may be used throughout the crossing.
On some routes, there is coverage during practically the entire trip, whereas on the Isla de Botafoc ferry, Movistar has permanent coverage.

Non-smoking area
In accordance with Spanish smoking law, smoking is prohibited inside the vessels. Furthermore, smoking is not permitted in any of the company's on-land premises. Baleària requests that passengers comply with this law.

Physically challenged passengers
Booking
Baleària personnel on board the vessel and on land are available to aid physically challenged passengers, including disabled passengers, senior citizens, pregnant women, etc. to board the vessel and throughout the crossing.
Baleària recommends physically challenged passengers to notify personnel of this condition when booking and when checking in. In this manner, they will receive the appropriate attention and will be informed of the specific services offered aboard the vessel in which they will be travelling. Company personnel on land and on board the vessel are glad to assist these individuals, always taking into account that the vessel is a means of transport subject to security measures with which they must comply.

Boarding and accommodations
Depending on the vessel and route, these passengers shall be boarded prior to or following the rest of the passengers. In the latter case, physically challenged passengers and their companions can wait in the passenger lounge until Baleària personnel notify them that they may board. Additionally, Baleària personnel shall offer assistance in boarding the vessel and carrying luggage to physically challenged individuals.
Once aboard, disabled individuals who wish to travel in their wheelchair will be directed to the most ideal location by crew members. On the contrary, such passengers will be assisted in sitting in their seats, if so required.

Services aboard the vessels

Infants and children
The following considerations are made:
>> Infants are minors from 0 to 2 years old.
>> Children are minors from 2 to 12 years old.
Infants travel free (although passengers are required to notify us that an infant will be brought aboard when booking a ticket) and do not have the right to occupy a seat, whereas children receive a discount on the applicable tariff.
Some Baleària vessels have special services for infants and children:
>> Isla de Botafoc: child play area.
>> Federico García Lorca, Ramon Llull, Isla de Botafoc and Pau Casals: infant changing station.
>> Nixe series : infant changing station.

Pets
Booking
Passengers' pets travel for free, and there is no need to book a ticket for such animals. However, passengers should let us know that they will be bringing an animal aboard when booking and purchasing their tickets. When boarding, a crew member should be notified of the presence of the pet on board, and passengers should furnish the animal's health documentation if so required.
Boarding and disembarking
When travelling with a dog, please be reminded that it should be on a leash and should be wearing a muzzle when boarding and disembarking. Even if the animal is placid, the new surroundings and crowds may change its usual behaviour.
Other animals should be boarded in an appropriate cage or box.

Guide Dogs
Baleària's regulations with respect to pets on board the vessels do not apply to guide dogs accompanying blind passengers. In accordance with specific regulations in this regard, such animals have free access to the vessels' lounges.

During the journey
As a general rule, pets must travel in cages which are conditioned for them and available on all the Baleària boats.
These cages are installed on the deck, in the garage or at other points on the boat, in places which are correctly ventilated and fitted out.
In the event that a passenger wants to see their animal during the trip, they should consult the personnel on board, and if convenient, they will accompany the passenger.
In some ferries, and as long as the crew consider it convenient, animals can travel on the deck, accompanied by their owners, always on a lead and using a muzzle, as long as they do not bother the other passengers.

As a general rule, pets cannot travel in the passenger lounges, and under no circumstances can animals travel inside vehicles parked in the hold or in the cabins. In order to avoid this situation, Baleària has conditioned its boats so that the passengers’ pets can travel comfortably and risk-free.

This possibility offered by Baleària to travel with animals must be compatible with the rights and comfort of other travellers.

Safety
Safety features
Aboard the Baleària vessels, the captain and crew’s main priority is the passengers’ safety. Accordingly, in addition to strictly adherence to all checks required by the Directorate-General of the Merchant Marine and other competent authorities, additional safety measures are taken.

Access to the ship
In accordance with international safety regulations, Baleària personnel request identification documentation from those passengers boarding the ship.
Additionally, the port authorities control the passengers and luggage boarding the ship using scanners and metal detectors. This examination may be extended to vehicles boarding the ship.

Restricted access area
The application of these international safety regulations imply restricting access to certain areas of the vessel (such as the hold, which may only be accessed by the drivers of the vehicles and where taking photos or recording videos is strictly prohibited). Restricted areas are duly signalled, and Baleària requests all passengers to comply with this regulation, as well as the other safety and protection measures in place.

Closed circuit television
Furthermore, all vessels are equipped with closed circuit television which records images to guarantee full surveillance of the vessel and passengers in order to protect them against any type of unlawful acts that may be committed aboard the ferries.
Additionally, the vessels are able to contact both company personnel on land and the protection-related competent authorities at all times to guarantee a safe trip.

Notification of incidences
Baleària’s punctuality and comfort objectives may be altered if weather conditions prevent comfortable and safe sailing. In these cases, Baleària’s aim is to keep passengers informed of the fleet’s situation at all times, and in this connection, it has several communication channels and systems.
Mobile telephone
Passengers who provide a mobile telephone when booking their trip are informed of possible incidences, delays or cancellations, as well as alternative forms of transport. To guarantee that information is efficiently provided, it is important for passengers to include a mobile telephone number for contact purposes when booking a trip.
Internet
On Baleària’s website, there is a section (Service information) where the company indicates whether the ship is operating normally or if there are any incidences. In the latter case, passengers may register to receive incident alert service by electronic mail, where they will receive updated messages on the situation for the following 24 hours.
Incident information telephone number (902 169 189)
At the incident information telephone number, updated information is offered by means of a recording regarding the status of Baleària’s services on the various routes.
The telephone operates round the clock 365 days a year, and passengers may confirm whether the vessels are operating on schedule or whether there has been any incident.
Wap
At the address www.wap.balearia.net, passengers with mobile phones equipped with wap technology may consult updated information regarding the condition of the fleet.
Informational screens at the maritime stations
All maritime stations have a Virtual Control Centre and Informational Screens informing passengers of the status of the vessels arriving and departing from that port.
The screens detail the arrivals and departures for the next 24 hours, indicating the day, time, destination, vessel and status (where applicable, “boarding”, “delayed”, or “cancelled.” ).

Tariffs and Discounts
Baleària has a flexible tariff system enabling passengers to obtain a 75% discount on the official tariff, in addition to taking advantage of numerous offers made during the year on all routes. The simplest manner to find out the best price for each crossing is to consult the Booking section at www.Baleària.com. By indicating the dates and routes, information can be obtained regarding the various tariffs and offers applicable, as well as the conditions for each one. In this manner, passengers may choose the option which best adapts to their needs.
Flexible tariffs
Baleària’s flexible tickets allow customers to obtain a discount of up to 75% off the official tariff during the year. The discount amount depends on the flexibility of the ticket (less changes or cancellations give rise to a higher discount) and how far in advance the ticket is purchased (the earlier you purchase a ticket, the greater the discount).
Discounts are not valid for the Ibiza-Formentera or Algeciras-Tánger routes.
Resident and other discounts are applied following the corresponding commercial discount.
