COMPANY SPONSORSHIP

For Balearia, it has always been important to reinvest part of the company's benefits in sporting and social projects. Therefore, in addition to having our own sailing ship skippered by the Olympic champion Toño Gorosotegui, we sponsor two sports teams.

At Balearia, as in sports clubs, teamwork is a key element. The collaborative effort to reach goals is enriched by the diversity brought by each member.

Balearia's athletics club Marina Alta

Since March 2002, and for the following 3 years, Balearia has sponsored Balearia's Marina Alta Athletics Club, founded in Denia in 1978. During its entire history the club has had athletes that have been outstanding in the autonomous regions and at state levels.

At present, the club focuses on younger athletes. The goal of the club, which Balearia aims to encourage, is to allow those young sportsmen to be familiar with as many kinds of disciplines as possible (long jump, high jump, sprinting, middle distance, long distance, javelin, shot put, hammer throwing and discus) in order that they can develop the one that best suits their abilities. This ensures that there is always a member of Balearia's Marina Alta Athletics Club on the podium of whichever championship it takes part in.

Unión Deportiva Salamanca

Since September 2002 Balearia has sponsored the football team from Salamanca, which currently plays in the second division. The players of that team have Balearia's logotype on their T-shirts during their away games. The Union Deportiva Salamanca relies on an economic and moral support from the shipping company throughout the season.

Balearic Cycling Federation

Balearia takes part in the Balearic Cycling Federation by funding the trips of its members to the competitions organised in any of the four Balearic Islands. This way, cyclists can transport their bicycles and their personal objects with the maximum comfort. In exchange, the Cycling Federation cooperates by placing hoarding from the shipping company at the perimeters of the competitions.
